A 3.5 mile trail, the Zionsville Rail Trail is well equipped for biking, rollerblading, and hiking. The rail trail is located on an old railway line and takes visitors upwards through a massive boardwalk that spans Eagle Creek, the creek that eventually flows into Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
The first part of the trail is asphalt, while the second is crushed limestone, making it a smooth, comfortable surface for any transportation.
The Zionsville Rail Trail begins at Starkey Nature Park, passes through Boone County, and proceeds through an old growth forest, before taking a tunnel under a road on the outskirts of Zionsville.
